Posting method for duplicate content

Archives are often uploaded with content with the same name and content. When two or more uploaded files are the same, this is called duplicate content. Duplicate content is usually merged into one by the site operator, who decides which one is uploaded first or has no problems running. The merged content will not be deleted but will be redirected (automatic link movement).

Even if duplicate content is found, there is no need to report it separately. We'll avoid merging duplicate content whenever possible, unless it's particularly problematic. Because two or more identical pieces of content that appear to be duplicates may in fact be different versions with minor modifications. Examples include the following cases:

  • The publisher of the content has changed and the logo has been replaced.
  • Bugs were fixed due to large and small issues with the content.
  • Subtle changes have been made, such as replacing resources within the content, additional content, and correcting typos.
  • In addition to these examples, the two content may actually be different for many more reasons. It's very difficult to spot these differences every time, and it might not make sense to merge them together because you can't tell which is the newest or the better version.

If a version exists within the content or if there is a distinct difference, it will be indicated in the Possible Versions field. Then the user will be able to choose the version they want (or the latest version) and run it.
