Best practices for running the flash emulator
In order to run the flash emulator smoothly, it is recommended to update to the latest browser and operating system. Depending on the hardware performance, there may be differences in loading and performance speed. Check out the official specs page below for more details.: https://github.com/ruffle-rs/ruffle/wiki
Operating system (at least one of the following)
- Windows (Windows 10, 11 / x64)
- macOS (10.13 or later / x64, arm)
- Linux (With Vulkan API support / x64, arm)
Web browser (at least one of the following, higher recommended)
- Google Chrome (90~)
- Microsoft Edge (90~)
- Mozilla Firefox (90~)
- Apple Safari (14.1.2~)
- [Mobile] Google Chrome
- [Mobile] Samsung Browser (18.0~)
Check whether your browser supports WebAssembly or WebGL features. You can check if WebGL supports it by visiting the following link: https://get.webgl.org
Other hardware recommendations
- 4 GB or more of RAM. Although the emulator doesn't use ram excessively, it does affect pleasant processes and browsing.
- CPUs manufactured after 2016
- GPUs produced after 2016, GPUs are optional, but performance improvements can be expected.
Best practices for emulator optimization
- Please close other apps (windows) you are working on as much as possible. You get the best performance with fewer external apps running.
- Keep your web browser extensions to the minimum possible. Extensions (such as ad-blocking apps) may block or slow down content.
- If you are using the Ruffle extension, please disable it. It may conflict with the Ruffle mounted inside the site.
